Is Enfamil Prosobee Lipil ok for my son?
On WIC they only provide you with Enfamil. When my daughter was little she couldn't tolerate Enfamil so we used similac. When I told WIC that my daughter couldn't take Enfamil she put down for my son to get the soy based formula of Enfamil. Even though he has done great on it I feel like it might be wrong for him to get the soy formula when he isn't lactose intolerant. Could this make him lactose intolerant later on? Is the milk based better for their bodies vs. the soy? Would it bother him to switch him now at almost 3 months? Is it wrong to assume that since my daughter couldn't tolerate it that my son might not have either? Thank you for your help!
What does your doctor say? If your son is tolerating the soy formula well and your doctor is fine with it, you should just stick with it. Being on soy will not make him lactose intlerant later on. Both the Soy and Milk Based formulas are made with all the same nuitrients. At 3 mos, it may or may not bother him to switich. It is hard to tell. It is also hard to tell whether or not your son would tolerate it. You can not assume that just because your daughter could not tolerate it that your son can't. They are different children. You should probably stay on the soy for now and ask your doctor about it when you can. The soy formula is just as good.
