Is the Maya wrap the best sling out there?
I've heard that maya wrap is the best sling in terms of comfort, carrying etc etc and that its great for both newborn and toddler alike. Do you think this is true?
What slings did you guys find to be the best? There are SO many: there's wrap ones, pouch ones, EllaRoo wrap, ring slings, ergo carriers, mei tai etc etc
So what did you guys use? and what was most confortable?
I need a sling that can be used for a newborn and onwards.

I don't think this is a question anyone else can answer for you. It really depends on your comfort level and what the baby likes. I had an 'over the shoulder baby holder' (ring sling) that was too padded for me, a hotsling (pouch) type that worked well for several months until my daugher started wanting to move more and now I have a patapum (you wear the baby sitting up but facing you, on your chest or back). Now she's 16m old and hates being confined in any type of carrier. So it all depends. I've been told that some of the backpack type carriers are not good for newborns b/c they put too much stress on their pelvis. Look for one you can use in several positions and check the upper limit on the weight.
Search on-line and see if there's a babywearing group near you. Then you can go see all the carriers in person and see the different positions you can carry the babies in. Also check sites like ebay & craigslist for less expensive, used carriers. Then you won't feel bad if you get 2 for the price of 1.
